At Barefoot, we’re dedicated to offering more than just a service. We provide a comprehensive level of care that is accessible, highly valuable and one that helps you return to the activities you love more quickly.

We understand the importance of being at our best to help you reach your health goals. To ensure we’re able to do this, the Barefoot team limits itself to seeing a maximum of nine clients per day, compared to the typical 15-20. We also limit the number of clients we see back-to-back to ensure our energy levels stay high and our focus is always sharp.

Preparation is vital to maximising our time with you in your session. To ensure ample time to assess test results that have been returned or read through any reports received from other practitioners in your healthcare team, every appointment at Barefoot Physiotherapy is followed by a dedicated administrative slot. This ensures our physios are well-prepared, ready to start your appointment on time, and able to provide you with their undivided attention during your appointment.

Those attending 30-minute initial consultations will receive an hour-long follow up for $180 (with General Physio) or $260 (with Senior Physio)

The Barefoot Physiotherapy clinic have EFTPOS, Credit Card and HICAPS facilities available.

Private Health: We process all private health funds on the spot and you then pay the gap. If you would like to know how much your fund pays towards physio you can contact them and ask what amounts they contribute to an Initial consultation (code 500) and Subsequent consultation (code 505). There are some funds that pay a percentage of the consult amount.

Workcover: We see Workcover clients as private clients, meaning you pay in full for your appointment and claim back through Workcover. Workcover rebates are $117 for your initial consultation and $88 for subsequent consultations. Make sure to tell us you are claiming under Workcover when you book, and have your claim number and case manager name/contact details ready.

Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) under Medicare: If you have been referred by your GP for Physiotherapy under an EPC we will process the claim on the spot. You will need to pay for your appointment in full and then be reimbursed $58/session by Medicare.

NDIS: We are now taking NDIS funded clients that are Plan Managed or Self Managed. Please contact the clinic to book in.

We also offer payment plans where required. We believe that limited finances shouldn’t prevent you from receiving the optimal treatment and care that you deserve. Please contact us if this is something you may be interested in, or if you have any questions.

Why Do You Recommend a 60-minute Initial Consultation?

Here at Barefoot Physiotherapy, we like to get to know our clients, their lifestyles and their musculoskeletal concerns, to create a tailored physiotherapy plan. A 60-minute initial consultation is recommended for all new clients. This way we can complete a full assessment of your body, and test your nerves and movements so that we know exactly what’s going on.

A 60-minute initial consultation allows our physiotherapists to a comprehensive analysis of your concern, providing us with more information to work out we can help.

In this session, we’ll get a sense of your pain points, daily life and your goals for the future. You can expect a full-body nerve assessment so we can start treating you in the areas that will impact you most, to improve your life. We’ll also teach you optimal sleep and work-station setups (individualised to your body and unique requirements) so that you can reduce any built-up strain in your body.

While everyone is different, we have observed the best care is often achieved with a 60min initial consult and a 30min follow up within a couple of days – from there each person is different. Be assured we do not treat unless we are achieving results. And expect to get some homework too so that we can get you to your goals even quicker!

What If I Can Only Fit In 30-Minutes for My First Appointment?

We get it – busier lifestyles make it hard to find time for an hour-long first appointment. If you can only do a 30-minute consultation initially, then your second or third appointment can be 60 minutes long for $180 (General Physio) or $260 (Senior Physio).

Our physios have 2-4+ hours of training per week consistently throughout the year within the clinic, to ensure an extremely high level of learning and care. All physios are provided with a professional development allowance and are encouraged to pursue external training.

When a physio joins the Barefoot team they are trained fully in the Barefoot Physiotherapy Method which involves a 4 weeks intensive training prior to work with hands on experience and senior training.

We offer fully private rooms, hands-on physiotherapists with you the entire time. Our clinic is results-focused – YOUR good result is the key to our success.

When you come into Barefoot Physiotherapy, you are taught about your body and educated about why your injury has occurred – you are also taught how to treat yourself. We work with your entire team (family/friends/trainer/coach/etc) to ensure you are fully taken care of and your pain, discomfort or injury is adequately managed.
