Daily Check-Ins and Tailored Strategies — Taking the Next Step in Your Recovery

As the creator of the Wellbeing Battery and a physiotherapist myself, I’ve seen firsthand how checking in with your energy every day—and learning what supports it—can be a game changer for both recovery and life. 

The Power of Monitoring: Making the Invisible, Visible

Our bodies give us signals all the time, but we’re often too busy or overwhelmed to notice them. 

When you use your Wellbeing Battery Journal to track your energy levels each day (yes, with colourful stickers!) you start to: 

  • Spot patterns over time 
  • Understand the build-up before a flare-up 
  • Recognise what’s helping—or hurting—your recovery 
  • Make choices that match your current capacity

If your battery is green, you might be ready for a higher challenge—like returning to running, or reintroducing strength work. 

If you’re in orange or red, you might need gentle movement, rest, or just the space to say “not today” without guilt. 

Together with your physio, you can create personalised, level-specific strategies that support both your nervous system and your physical recovery. That’s the difference between pushing through and moving forward.
