Kirsten has worked with a range of clients, from varsity athletes on field to geriatric patients in an aged care facility to all those in between. Although very different in presentation and abilities, Kirsten’s treatment approach has always been centred on the client and their goals.
Having completed her undergrad and worked several years as a kinesiologist (Canadian-exercise physiologist) prior to her Masters in physiotherapy, Kirsten has a strong exercise knowledge and believes that understanding a sport or activity can make the difference between a good and great recovery. Besides the fun of trying something new, this is one of the reasons she has tried her hand at so many sports from curling to backyard cricket to Pilates.
Growing up in Canada seems to be a prerequisite to love winter sports – for Kirsten, it’s snowboarding, ice skating and cross country skiing. When it comes to physiotherapy she combines her passion and experience for winter sports to prep you before (or treat you after?) your snow trip to NZ or Japan!
When Kirsten is not treating, she can be found on the cliffs at Kangaroo Point enjoying her passion for rock climbing. She also enjoys the great outdoors – so any great hikes, kayaking trips or camp sites you can suggest are always added to her list.
